One of my favourite paintings from this year so far, I went up to the main beach at Curracloe on a beautiful sunny morning last week, hoping to find some interesting cast shadows in the large dunes. And I wasn't disappointed. I had to work quickly though as I know the shadows wouldn't last long as the sun moved towards the South. I found this one difficult to photograph - IRL there is more tonal contrast between the cast shadows and the sunlit sand and they are less blue also. Still, it's close enough to get the overall effect.

It's oil on 11" x 14" MDF Board.

Thanks Tony. I can see myself doing a few more in those dunes if the fine weather returns.
