That's what I'd have thought, Kevin. According to Wiki, the canal 'replaced' the original river! Go figure, as the Americans say. My guess it is the Sow but according to 'tinternet, its now a canal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlebridge
Thanks everyone for the comments. Just Sheila and me in the car park by the time I got there, Michael - and I was able to copy Sheila's painting when she wasn't looking, so I was delighted with myself!
Tony lovely painting. Is this not the River Sow?
Well done, Tony. I was considering that scene earlier, but chickened out, because I figured the car park would get very busy when the pub opened. I was going to move Forth Mountain to the left too as you've done here - or maybe you were in the water!
Lovely work Tony, I think I had just left before you arrived. Sheila found a good place to paint.
I looked up Wikipedia to find the name of this heavily overgrown river which runs through the village. It turns out it is actually a canal and it was dug out by hand for boats to carry produce from Castlebridge into Wexford.
