It's actually white Nina, though appears blue in the photograph. Blooms for about a month each year

Amazing Dee! Bog Cotton..a new term for me. Is it always blue in summer?

It's Bog Cotton Nina - like little puffs of cotton-wool on stems :-) The bog colours differ with the seasons - right now the cut bog looks like chocolate cake. At other times, it's covered with pink and purple heathers

My grandmother spoke of the bog she and her family used to cut from for fuel in Co.Clare. I'm 3rd gen Irish frm the states, but have a yearning to visit....someday before I'm too old.  But I wanted to ask about the blue flowers in the foreground of your lovely painting..What were they? Thanks.
