One of the items on my list to work on when I returned from AITO was to work on my greens, after doing some color charts I eliminated to blues from my palette! This is a sketch I did after I did the color charts.

Michael, I did drive a lot, next time I will paint more but I saw so much, the Burren, the ring of Beara. Dursey So much, so pretty and the weather was splendid.

Tony, I ended up with keeping cobalt and cyan blue. I may bring back ultra blue but for now I can get most anything with these two. On the yellows I'm working with Aureolin, new gamboge and yellow ochre. I don't use the cyan (pthalo) often because it is so dominant.
I didn't make it to Northern Ireland, I ran out of time. So when I spent a night in Galway and then Dublin to catch my flight. I actually ran into someone from AITO in Dublin! I can't remember her name, I'll have to look it up.

Great sense of depth in this one, Kathy. You really covered a lot of ground very quickly on your "tour of Ireland"!

Hi Kathy,

These are great watercolours. I see you made it to Dingle and were inspired. Did you get as far as Giant's Causeway or are you leaving that until next time? Why are greens such a killer for everyone lots of us? You've eliminated 2 blues because you can get close to mixing them with others or what else do you mean? There's a lot to know..!.
