The twelfth 'Art in the Open' - an international plein air painting festival of paint-outs, workshops, exhibition and good company. The annual August event is open to all and attracts visitors from Europe, USA and all of Ireland to Wexford in the sunny south-east.

In addition, there are several half-day demonstrations and workshops on location, plus barbecue, music and get-togethers, life-drawing sessions, a Quick-Draw fun event with prizes and all the craic that goes with this festival.

All are welcome. Come to paint or come to watch.

You must book online. If the festival is oversubscribed, latecomers may miss out.

The eagerly awaited www.artintheopen.org festival website should go 'live' early next week (just dotting a few 'i's and crossing some 't's to the programme) and you will be able to see the line-up for what should be a great event.

If you've already registered online, bring your canvas or paper to the 1798 Centre for stamping and receive your welcome pack. There's even a free coffee and scone waiting for you before 11am.
