Plein Eire

Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

Just to say a huge thank you to all who worked so hard, and so professionally, to make the Wexford Plein Air Painting Festival such a great success. I was blown away by the warm welcome from everyone, by the great organisation, by the attention to detail - all in such a short space of time and with so many participants - it was simply brilliant.
How you put together that huge exhibition so quickly with lovely hanging arrangements and typed painting details was just remarkable.  And the exhibition looked so good, so fresh with the energy, enthusiasm and creativity of 100 artists - it lifted my spirits and I floated home in my car to the West! And it was a most enjoyable and memorable weekend,  making lots of new friends, and I would encourage any painter to put Wexford August Bank Holiday into their diary for 2011.
Thanks again to all the Committee members for making such a great event. John Dinan

Those are great photos, thanks for putting them up, Tony. I enjoy putting faces to names, and paintings. Karen, I especially liked the one of you holding your fingers up as a viewfinder.

Brilliant!
Whoever he is, he's definitely in contention to be next year's poster-boy!
(I reckon its the redoubtable David Bagnall and his amphibious easel).
Its great, I wonder through dedication did he stay put while the tide came in or did he set his easel up there to get the perfect composition!
There is a dedicated plein air painter. Hope the tide didn't come in too quickly!
Excellent picture!!! love it...true dedication and spirit of PA! Well done Ayfer for catching this one!
He was parked beside my car, got out a fold-up bike and went off over the bridge with all his gear on his back ! I arrived back about 8pm that evening and there he was up to his ankles in water and I just had to snap him (hope you dont mind) Here is another photo of him and a big thank you to you for getting me started as your enthusiasim was great to observe

as I was reluctant to make a start that day !
