Event Description

'Scaling up' -
After discussing this with others while across the pond, I think this would be a fun and very learning experience. Use one of your paintings from the week leading up to, after, and including the Plein Eire Festival, and enlarge it, trying to maintain the freshness of the original. The new, larger one should be at least 16x20 (or larger of the original is this size). They can then be posted together on this site. You have a whole month to get thoughts together and begin.--or rather finish.

Ok--I'll try posting mine and see how it goes---don't know what you're worried about--nice soft colors and work with the soft brush strokes in the foreground--but---sometimes what we learn is better--and a good way to christen the studio.

That is very nice, Karen. I love the clouds! Where is a picture of the first, small one you did?

Well that's my attempt at scaling up 16x 20..Not sure if I'm happy with it, but I've learned loads. This has the added significance of being the first painting I've done in my new studio, so thanks David for the kick start!!!

Sorry David..I don't think I'd have enough bronze for that one!! :-)

Karen--one other thing--I think you should make any corrections or improvements you think you need--without changing, too much, the original character----and---I misunderstood your first line---you were deciding which painting to do. I think you should do a full sized image of the painter in Enniscorthy.

I think anywhere that you visited during the time of the paint out, plus the extra days before and after---someone asked if they could pick up the challenge even if they couldn't participate--don't really see why not--what do you think?

Currocloe or Enniscorthy??? I can't decide which one. Are we allowed make improvements, do we use photo references...or is it purely scale up what we've got????...sorry the nerves are getting to me!!!
