Meet this sat morning at 10.30 at Molly's cafe in Balbriggan. There is ample parking at the harbour which is a few mins walk to the coffee shop.
Balbriggan - the name of the town in Irish is either Baile Bricín, meaning Town of the Small Trout, or Baile Brigín, meaning Town of the Small Hills. The town was originally a small fishing village where King William of Orange and his army set up their camp after the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. In 1920 the town was burned and looted by the “Black and Tans” (a British Military force similar to the SS) after a Royal Irish Constable was murdered during the 1916-21 War of Independence.

I hope you are not going to paint from the mast Sean. High tide is around 11.25am and low tide late afternoon so an oppurtunity for 2 paintings. It is one of the best harbours for painting boats but there is also the bridge and some lovely shapes in those old harbour cottages. I think a pair of these for the hands might be an addition for the winter wardrobe
