Event Description

Visit Hook Lighthouse for details and history of the Lighthouse dating from 1172 and recently voted the best in the world.

(Look I don't write this stuff, its only 'cut & paste'!)

Anyway, after hooking up (sorry!) with Margaret Kent and Michael McGuire in the car park, we will proceed to the Visitors Centre to be welcomed with a hot coffee at 10.30am. The Centre have kindly offered a free tour of the lighthouse (normally €6) after lunch as a bonus for participants in this Art in the Open paint-out.

We will have arrived on Tuesday, and hopefully will have looked around a little. Do you recommend that I definitely do this paint out? And, we were advised not to rent a car, so I might need a lift. Thanks for any help! So looking forward to painting with all of you!

Comment by Elaine Hurst on July 4, 2011 at 13:43: I hope I can get to this. I will be coming from Dublin that morning, and getting settled in where I'm staying. If I'm not done in, and can find a way to get there, I may try to come in the afternoon if that is ok. I love lighthouses.

By popular demand this paint-out has been moved to Weds. 27th July from the previously publicised date as spectacular Hook Head is likely to be a very popular visit and some of our Art in the Open guests are only arriving in Wexford on Tuesday 26th July.
