Tony - I love it!  It has great character and atmosphere to it, also beautifully painted. Regards, Caroline Carroll.

Haha! You are full of surprises - I always thought you were a confirmed realist, Rene, not an iPad man  You're right; the path by the side of the house is tricky. I've painted it before from the other side of the garden and that gets rid of the path problem but I didn't want to repeat it so soon. But actually it was the bottom of the path running into the corner which concerned me more. The top end I darkened so it joined the tree mass on the left of the cottage and I simplified to the right of the cottage into another dark tree mass to bring the building forward and to keep it simple. As for taking a lower angle, the River Bannow was at my back. Maybe you just wanted to see me fall in?
