A 'Paint-Out' can be arranged by anyone. Even an impromptu session can be posted here if the weather is promising and you have an afternoon or a morning to spare. We try to meet regularly. Just decide on a time and a suitable venue and post a notice on the group page and 'Events'.
Time and location to be posted in advance both on "Plein Eire Dublin" and "Events" pages on this Plein Eire site.
RSVP on 'Events' for notice to be sent to you in the event of any change in plans or check this Plein Eire Dublin Group page on the morning of a paint-out .
Members may also propose paint-outs at other times as suits them and ask for other members who may be available to join them.

Brilliant Michael!
I am sure I can arrange an outing to the Irish National Stud again this year if you think it might be suitable. Perhaps May or June. The M7 Motorway makes it very accessible and I would be happy to host the day.
Would love to make it this sat but cant, would be free to host a paint-out but would have to be on sundays ! Good idea to share the hosting as it is a big comittment for one person
Good stuff!
Botanic Gardens sounds great! Looking forward to getting out painting again!
It is great that Valerie is offering to step into the breach. But maybe there is also an opportunity here for the group to grow a little if members were to offer to take responsibility for one meeting each by suggesting a location to paint and a place to meet up for coffee. Who knows, you may find once a month just isn't enough for all the great places waiting to be painted. Or perhaps, once a fortnight a Sunday paint-out may suit some who can't manage a Saturday? You can use this forum to post your suggestions for paint-outs and to volunteer to play 'host' for the day.
May I take this opportunity to say a big 'thanks' on behalf of the site and Plein Eire Dublin to John O'Flynn for getting the whole thing started. It has been a great success and become the biggest group on the site. Well done, John!
I'll take over for a while if you like.
I've emailed Brendan Sayers in the National Botanic Gardens for permission to paint there next Saturday. No reply as yet.
Assuming they have no objections we will meet up in the cafe in the Botanic Garden at 11.00am. If the weather is bad we can retreat into the glass houses. The one beside the cafe has lovely plants in it, and the Palm House is always good.
But I've just bought fingerless gloves, so I'll probably paint out of doors. Wrap up very warmly, and maybe bring a flask of something hot.
If you are in a glass house, please ensure that you are not in the way of wheelchairs or child buggys, and don't tread on any plants or flower beds. I know all this is obvious, but they are particular about ensuring that any groups they permit in do not infringe on other visitors to the Gardens.
I've been very lax at attending paint-outs, but I agree with John's suggestion of the Botanic Gardens. Is that Saturday 4th or Sunday 5th?
Best, Julian Reynolds
Plein Eire Dubliners - Seasons Greetings!
Its recently become very apparent to me that I have too many "balls-in-the-air", and enjoyable as juggling all of them may be, that I have to, at least temporarily, retire which ever ones I can. I haven't really participated in any of PEDublin's regular "first Sat/Sun of the month" paint-outs since June, and I can't make the next one either (perhaps in Botanic Gdns as has become the norm for January)! (Indeed I didn't get an opportunity to paint Dublin in autumnal colors once this year – arguably Dublin’s best "clothing"!). So I think I should retire from taking lead in organising PEDub "first Sat/Sun" paint-outs, and hand-over whom-so-ever wishes to step into the breach. I was going wait until that person was "in-situ" but I think I can wait no longer! ….Any takers?!….
Best
JOHN O F
Thanks for that Valerie. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend.
