Spring is well on the way here with a number of warmer days and vigorous growth in the countryside.

This little piece was painted plein air, direct from nature just outside a small hamlet called Pioussay in the south west of France.

It was a bit of a struggle to get it down quickly before the conditions changed. but fortunately the light lingered, and I was able to get it onto the canvas quite well.  Only a small amount of adjustment was required subsequently in the…
