I painted with a couple of friends yesterday, once again in the real "Sunny South East". It can be a bit bleak and windswept down the Southern end of Ladies Island on overcast days, but when the sun shines and it does so frequently, the place has an appealing rugged beauty. I liked the colour of the dune grasses here against the blue sky, and also the sense of mystery as to what lies beyond ........actually, about twenty miles of sandy beach!

It's oil on !0" x 12" MDF board.

Thanks Deirdre. It was a bit of a challenge to get the grass to read as sunlit, since there was almost no shadow.

I love the way you treated the grasses Micgael!
