I did this painting last year during a plein air event in Port Angeles, Washington. Some of us drove two and a half hours to the coast and another mile and a half hike to this beach. As soon as I walked past this scene and turned around..I knew that I might get a decent painting out of it as how excited I was with the scene. I thought it was the best of about 10 paintings that I did, but got an award on another painting...go figure!!
