It had become mostly cloudy by afternoon, and I found it difficult to see anything interesting to paint. Inevitably, I got drawn towards the rushing water in the mill race beside the weir. However, to get this view I had to make my way out onto the weir - not as crazy as it sounds, because the water level was low, so the weir was mostly above water. However, I almost fell in twice while stepping back to look at the painting. Hopefully, it was worth the risk!

Michaels Half Day on Location Workshop, "Movement in Water" is being held in Innistigue, on Monday, July 30th, as part of the" Art In The Open Festival" this year.... CHECK OUT : ART IN THE OPEN WEBSITE for more details......
Thanks Karen. That's right, I'll reveal all in Inistiogue (maybe I should re-phrase that unless I scare everyone away!).
These look great Michael......I always knew you were an adrenalin junkie !! Love how you've conveyed the speed of the water beneath your feet .... now how did you do that ??? ( I guess all will be revealed at AIO this year)?????
Thanks Deirdre.
wonderful Michael.
Thanks Sally.
Thanks Terry. Make sure tp post yours!
Very accurately titled, Michael, - ON as opposed to At (ref. your blog photo). Great sense of the rush of water and lovely play of light on the willow leaves.
Really like this one Michael. It has everything - movement, composition, balance, recession, atmosphere. There really is nothing weird about it, that is except for the painting location.
Thanks Esther. I made two great attempts (to fall in)!
