We have a lot of these "wild roses" planted around the edge of our front garden. In early summer, they produce beautiful red-purple flowers, and then in August, along come all these wonderful hips.
The painting challenge here was to maintain the focus on the main bunch in the foreground. It would have been very easy to get caught up in too much detail elsewhere.
It's oil on 14" x 11" MDF board.
