Lovely and sunny but it was sooooooooooo windy! I had to grab my easel and painting loads of times.

Airfield is a beautiful place to paint. It's a shame they're closing it for at least eighteen months at the end of October.

They are making the house into a museum, the car park into a cafe, changing the entrance to from another road, and heaven knows what else. The gardeners have all been given notice, and I don't know what is happening to the farm animals.

The artist studios will close - so we've had to find a new home for our life drawing. I've been doing a series of bog pond paintings, mostly from quick sketches and photos. But you cant' beat plein air for really getting a glimpse of the soul of a place.
