An enjoyable day out on Sunday with the SEPA painting group. We were small in number, probably due to an adverse weather forecast, but it turned into a lovely, warm day, with just the one shower as we were leaving. It was difficult for plein air painting though, because the passing cloud kept changing the light and shadow patterns. I decided to go for a shadow foreground and sunny background, as this looked more visually striking than the opposite (it kept switching every few minutes). And I simplified/arranged the sky to create maximum contrast where I wanted it.

It's oil on 10" x 12" MDF board.
