Thank you for the question. I roll out and up on lightweight scroll-easels (two of which I show below) of my own design and making, seeing about 50 cms of the painting or drawing each time. I work on location in single sessions (only the longer 'Lamu Town' took two sessions) and follow the weather as I paint. There is a Youtube video of me in Kenya last year, showing how I work (if the link doen't work, searching on my name will do).

Do you lay this on the ground or do you roll the paper or canvas out and roll it up as you work across the surface, Jacob?
