Micheal, one of our best known and respected artists, is giving a full day workshop at The Swallowsnest Studio, on March 10th. While a lot of his work is created "En Plein Air", Michael balances this with studio paintings, particularly during the winter months.

In this studio based workshop, Micheal will introduce and underline important elements which will help to improve the impact of your paintings. Participants will work from photo's, which will be supplied by Micheal, and you will need to bring your own standing easels.

"Participants will gain an understanding of the design and composition principles that add real punch to landscape paintings. I will explain these through some short group demos and then get everyone to use these in their own paintings with one-to-one tuition. Hopefully, as well as learning something new, everyone will go home with a finished painting. And, of course, there will be a comprehensive 
hand-out, to minimize the need for note-taking."

Hi Karen, Can I just confirm directions please? On Google map there are two Ballyknockans.  Is it the one near Killinick or further on near Our Lady's Island / Birdstown? Sorry to be a pest.
