Michael McGuire

Mon, 30th July, 9.30am: "Water in Motion"
Half-day Workshop in oils at Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. SOLD OUT

Michael was born in Kerry and now lives in Wexford, Ireland. A full-time painter for about ten years, he has studied with Californian colourist, Suzan Sarback and is chiefly known for his colourful impressionist landscape oil paintings which show his fascination with light effects and the problems this sets for painters. The challenge of backlit scenes with sunlight coming towards the viewer through foliage or the play of sunlight on running water, waves or a roadside puddle are his metier. Michael works in the studio on larger paintings but is a committed plein air painter and often completes his paintings on location. Michael's Website
