Plein Eire Boyne Valley at the RHA Dublin

Sally, Michelle, Bernadette, Anna, Frank, Noel and Brian at the RHA today with Franks sculpture (Noel and Brian, sorry you missed the photo). A photo or words do not do Frank's sculpture justice so it is well worth a visit. The whole exhibition is wonderful this year. Kate Began's wonderful Monaghan landscape in oils stands out in the gallery too, wonderful to see in life. I am looking forward to a 2nd visit. I didnt get photos of the wonderful detail so if anyone wants to add in photos here…

Covid 19 Howth virtual paint-out

This is one I found in my pile of un-finished paintings from Dublin Plein Air festival, I have tried to touch up some of it but I took no photos so I will wait till I can return out there some day to catch some of the deep colours I remember on the rocks in front of me. I remember the tide was coming in fast and I had to move Looking forward to trying a few from photos later today, take care all…

A wonderful exhibition, worth a few return visits. I didnt get a group photograph but I think Kyrle did - you can add it on here if you like Kyrle. A few of us tried sketching in Merrion Sq afterwards and Kevin went to great extremes to find a few roofs to paint in the city centre…

Thank you Sally for introducing us in the past to this wonderful place and for our return paint out today, I don't think I have ever seen such beautiful chicks all in one place before and those reflections in the puddles were beautiful.  The sun came out and what a lovely atmosphere there was after the rain, the colours were magical…

Balbriggan Paint out

Thank you Caroline for organising a great location today.  Normally I shy away from harbours but I have never seen such a lovely array of boats and think that it is worth the agony of learning to draw boats and get out of our comfort zone - the light bouncing around them was glorious and how easy Sean makes painting them look with his beautiful paintings.

Michael painting boats, he has eyes in the back of his head :)…
