If you're interested, apply to several parks.  I know Acadia accepts quite a few artists during the year.  Some only take a couple a year.  Here's a link to check into:

Besides having a beautiful place to create, you meet some wonderful people.  You usually have to donate a piece of artwork within a year to the park, and do some sort of presentation or talk to park visitors.

Now that's some useful info! Thank you!

Thank you, everyone.  This was a fun one to paint.  I did it in Maine when I had an artist residency at Acadia National Park.  The weather was great, it was beautiful, and so much fun.  For anyone interested, the US National Park system has an artist residency at many of their parks.  You apply, and if chosen, you get a free place to stay in a wonderful national park.  Some of the parks give you historic cabins, others are staff housing.

Seeing this one for the first time...Very believable and slippery looking!

I absolutely love this painting,Elaine! Just beautiful colours and they way that you have captured the part submerged rocks, a tricky subject handled well!

I'm trying. But I do enjoy pushing colors also, and using some artistic license too.

Love the colour . I get the feeling you are painting what you see.
