A whole story in a sequence of startling intensity, beautifully narrated by you, Julia ... congratulations
Just lovely julia....as usual.
Lovely painting Julia, you certainly made the most of gouache as a medium. Glad you enjoyed the day's painting. Tom
Thank you. It was a lovely day out for painting, and a great place since I wanted to paint it for years while walking along there to and from work! So, I was ready to go at it from the start.
John, I did suffer from washed out, powdery gouache effect for some time. I think I finally got it together somewhat - the secret is to hardly use any white. I use Naples yellow for making other colours lighted which works fine in a landscape, and only a little of permanent white for white accents, like birds. I did try to use p.white also in the sky and this is what killed it. Must find something else to lighten the skies next time. I also use thick Payne grey watercolour from the tube instead of black gouache. It helps too.
Thank you, Sally, I hope to see you at the next Boyne Valley's.
Well accomplished Julia and lovely strong effects with the gouache.
Your watercolours are inspiring Julia
Well done Julia, the birds are beautiful!
Love the seagulls Julia - they really make it
Lovely painting, Julia.
