Thank you all for being so kind. I’m definitely on a learning curve and what I learned this time is the importance of the background colour.  If you don’t want your sunny day to look like a memorial card don’t use a black background. It has its uses but this is not it - for me anyway.

Wonderful Pastel painting Sally, that boat is fantastic, The pastels definitely seem to be great for texture. and to think ......I was there!!!

What a great day we had, I love the background and Sky too, the whole painting is full of movement the mark making is lovely and gestural.

Thats wonderful Sally, is it Clogherhead ? That dark background works really well and the texture is very effective. A little boat having a very well deserved rest

Looks fabulous and the drawing of the fishing boat is perfect.
