Delighted to be accepted - I'm in the US at the moment and very sorry to miss Wexford, I enjoyed it immensely 2010/2011, it's a wonderful painting festival. My daughters Denise Kevany and Laura Cronin will be there this year, I envy them. Wishing you sunny days and a great AITO. Will post paintings when I get back. Hazel

Thank you for the welcome.  My first foray into painting was a plein air weekend in Clare. I loved being outside while painting but I have done very little since. I have very limited experience in watercolours or oils so I feel a bit intimidated about joining what looks to be a very experienced and talented group. Are there other beginners in the South East group I could join up with? I plan to visit Wexford to observe events and enjoy the atmosphere.

    Regards,

    Imelda

  • Maren S Phillips

Thanks so much for welcoming me to the group.  I love Ireland and hope to be able to make the trip from San Antonio, Texas next year for AITO!!  Here is a recent plein air painting from a location near me in TX, Johnson City's Sauer-Beckmann farm.

    All the best,

    Maren

    Hi

Thank you for accepting me as a member. Seeing as I live in South Galway I think I need to join up with Kincora Painters (they seem to be my nearest group) & Plein Eire West. There isn't a group covering South Galway/Clare is there?

I'm not sure how I go about joining a particular group -could you advise me as to my next step?

    Thanks

Hope to find myself painting in Ireland one day... Until then I'll be busy painting in Belgium :)Plein Air painting isn't something that is commonly done here in Belgium, in fact, I've never seen a painter outside a studio or academy here... so let's hope I can convince some friends and start a trend :D

Thanks for the warm welcome *waves*

Dear Admin - I think Ger has already tried to join but she has not used her E-Mail for so long it's gone off the network.   We'll sort it out but just in case you were wondering why you did not get confirmation back from her.  No need to reply and thanks.  Eileen

hello plein eire comunity - i am happy to be here - it will take a while to manage my profile -

i was starting plein eire painting in 1990 with my first teacher johannes bermell from the school of kiel - i have studied in the academy of arts in berlin and in como, italy - i am half italian - my mother is from milano - i started with watercolour for a long time - in 2005 i started to paint with oil - i am coming to wexford this year paticipating at art in the open -  thank you, that your site is existing and that there is so much interest in plein eire painting in ireland - in berlin and germany we are not so much people - in all, i am very interested in celtic culture and i studied celtic arts and mythology - but now i come the first time to ireland - and it beautyful, that i come to paint with you all - greetings marko

  • Ned Mueller

Hi Everyone...I am all signed up for painting all week around your great area of Wexford. I have been waiting for years to paint in Ireland and really looking forward to painting with everyone! I spent the whole month of May last year painting in England with three artist friends. We rented cotttages in Mevagissey in Cornwall and Staithes in Yorkshire and had a really great time. I am from the Seattle, Washington area in the states and we have very similar wether and so am ready for some "liquid sunshine" as we call it, or whatever else we may have. I have been honored to do a couple of demos and am giving a three day workshop after all of the events and hoping some of you have saved a few pounds for any of that. I've been drawing and painting for over 65 years and teaching almost as long! I am hoping to bum or share rides to the outings so that we could paint earlier and or stay later if any of you are up to that. I may still be hobbling around a bit as I just had back surgery about a month ago and if I topple over...just kick me around until I get back up! A little Irish Pale Ale might also do the trick! Looking forward to seeing everyone and I know that we will have a grand time!!

  • Suzanne Kirk

Thanks! I'm a bit further north in East Lothian- it's very cold! I'm fairly new to plein air painting so hoping that joining here will encourage me!

Hello,  I love painting on location but rarely get a chance. The weather in Brussels is not ideal but I guess in Ireland you have the same problem.  Here's what I've been up to:  http://www.catherinehale.blogspot.be

I originally signed up with Plein Eire to see if there were any Belgian members.  Now I'm back because I saw there was a Plein Eire Spain group and since I'm learning Spanish... maybe it's time for me to plan a trip to Spain!

    catherine

  • Anne McNulty

Thank you for accepting me to the group.
