    Hi Tony,

    Sorry I'm only replying now.

Yes Sun. June 12th in Carlow Town will have a lot of activities in the water with the first outdoor Water Park in Ireland (I think!?!) on the River Barrow (for June 11th & 12th only), a full day of events including water slides, dancers, samba bands, young musicians, workshops etc. from 12 - 4pm in the Carlow Town Park. Artists can either mingle and paint or paint from a distance from the other side of the river. The views seen on June 12th won't be seen very often, especially in Ireland! (let's hope the weather is good!) Hence we thought it could be a good idea to have a Plein Air event.

We have an artist facilitating the meet and greet who is very experienced in Plein Air events and is delighted to be involved....

Hope you are keeping well and that we get to meet up on the 12th.

    Tara

Hello everyone, I'm new to Plein Eire and really looking forward to participating in it.  I have looked at some of the works displayed and feel really positive that I can get in front of a canvass and paint away.  Watch this space and thanks for all those who welcomed me onto the site.

  • Eckhardt Milz

Hi everyone! Thanks a lot for the very warm welcome.

I got the question if I know of other Swedish plein air painters. I am sorry to tell you that I dont know any. Thats a reason too that I seek fellowship over the internet.

    cheers

    Eckhardt

  • Rory Mccarthy

hi there, i've got the same issue as Kate Beagan. I can't make all three days so just wondering if I can join in when I get down on Saturday?
  • Leanne Reynolds

Hi, could you tell me how to register for the 4th of August paint out? Thanks
  • Tim O'Sullivan

Thanks, Looking forward to more painting in the elements!

Did my first plein-air in Wexford this weekend.

Wonderful experience and great festival. I unfortunately had to leave earlier than expected. Looking forward to next years.

Some seriously good painters down there!

  • Leanne Reynolds

Oh great, thank you! Also, will these paintings be hung in a gallery and judged like the ones on Monday? Thanks
  • Tim O'Sullivan

    Agreed. We'll share the load.

After surviving a days painting in front of a roving, satirical and highly amused audience, anything is possible!

  • Kathleen (Kay) Eaton

Thank you for the add! I wish I could have been there for the recent paint out. I'll look forward to staying in touch!
  • Eamonn Dowdican

Thank you. Looking forward to some of your future events
  • Sally Downey

Copy of my letter to you which may not get to you before Saturday.

    9th August, 2011

    Dear Tony,

I’m afraid I am unable to collect my paintings (065/1 and 065/2) on Saturday.   Would it be possible for you to hold on to them for a few days.   Kate Beagan has offered to collect them for me.  I’m not sure when she will be in Wexford, sometime next week I understand.  I expect she will be in touch with you.

I know this kind of thing must be the last straw for you especially after having steered the festival so successfully through to its conclusion so I do appreciated it very much.

Thanks again for all the pleasure and experience of the Festival.

    Best wishes Sally Downey

    Hi Administrator,

I recently signed up but whenever I go in to site I am not visible in my group which is North East Boyne Valley. It only lists 14 members but I joined up a few months ago. Can you advise please?

  • Laura Butler

Hi sorry about the ancient profile photo. I joined via Facebook link last night and never realised my profile photo on there would follow me. I was reminiscing for childhood days with that one. The current one I've changed to is very much up to date.

I haven't uploaded artwork yet as I fall into the interested in doing outdoor painting category. I did used to paint outdoors all the time but in recent years have been 'studio' based but I would like to get back into outdoor painting and I'm keen to connect with other artists.

Thank you for your welcome! I'm a Florida painter with a mountain chalet in the Catskills of NY . Here is a plein air painting of that very spot. I would like to thank you for extending your welcome to artists internationally. I mistakenly signed up for this site, not realizing it was based in the beautiful emerald Isle, but am glad I did! Thanks again!

  • Stephanie Thompson

Thank you. Looking forward to linking up with other painters!

  • Jan Yates Sca

Thank you for including me in your membership! The work here is really dynamic.

I will be at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre for 3 weeks and plan to paint in oil-however am concerned as know customs does not allow oil 'paint' on flights. Are there any supply stores you can recommend in Dublin or surrounding areas? Any help is appreciated!

  • Helen O Brien

Thanks for the welcome. This looks like a busy site which I'm sure will inspire and provoke me - and the most important thing, working on my own, is to have outside contact with like minded people.
