Congratulations on a residency at Annaghmakerrig. That's quite an honour. There are several good art shops in Dublin. The oldest and probably the easiest to find is Kennedy's in Harcourt Street, close to St. Stephen's Green.
But you are not entirely correct about it not being permissible to fly with oil paints.It is mostly solvents and mediums which can cause problems with airlines. See our tips sheet here.
