I am likely to be in Wexford this w/e and would like to paint out with you guys, but not in Craighnamanagh as I will be in South Wexford around Lady's Island.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

Is that Graiguenamanagh over the Kilkenny border?
  • Dick Donaghue

Yes if you cross the bridge. The restaurant is on the Kilkenny side.

  • Sheila Mac Nally

    Ok, hope to make it
  • Louise Treacy

Too far for me guys. I'll stick closer to home or take off to the west maybe during next week in the camper might meet up with JeanAnne Songco Martin in Carna or Doolin and paint along with her group.
  • Jan Ryan

Can't make it Sunday for either locations. Heading to Doolin on 11th, so might look to meeting up with JeanAnne's group.

  • Marie-Christine O'Brien

Hi  South East group, anyone interested in getting our paint outs done in advance like we did last year, which worked very well. We had them every two weeks and had about six up on the events page. I know we won't get six in before Art in the Open starts but we could get it started. It doesn't have to be two weeks we could have one a week if we want till the Art in the Open. I don't mind if I put up a paint out for next Sunday 29th. We all love painting so lets get the ball rolling

  • Karen Scannell

    Hi Annie, Good idea.

Is there still a rota running ? I know Neil was planning on Ballyhack last week, so maybe that's for this coming Sunday...

    Sunday 28th -

    Sunday July 5th -

    Sunday July 12th-

    Sunday July 19th-

    Sunday July 26th -

We need members to adopt a Sunday, post an event, both on the Event page, and mention it here on SEPA.

One of the things we should do as SEPA Members is to "Friend" all SEPA members. When you post an Event, the email notifies all people of your friend list, so take time to make sure all members of SEPA at least, are on your friend list so all will be notified for future events...

  • Dick Donaghue

I suggest Castlebridge. Big Mill and Mill wheel. Old ruins and some stone buildings. The Frying Irishman restaurant is open from 10am. Small river etc... Sunday 28th?

  • Karen Scannell

just need tp check if neil intended to post Ballyhack for that date ?
  • Tony Robinson

    Good idea, Annie.

Ballyhack for which date? I'm getting confused.

I suggest once a date is adopted by someone, they post it to 'Events' and not just casually in the comment thread here. Then we know for sure.

I'll take on 19 July, if you like, and I'm suggesting Killinick's Karoo Farm Shop to meet. I'll take some photos and post it to Events this week unless that date is taken?

  • Dick Donaghue

I've checked with Neill. He's not posting. So I have posted the following in Events.

SEPA Paint Out CASTLEBRIDGE, Co Wexford Sunday 28th June.

June 24, 2015 from 11am to 4pm – CASTLEBRIDGE, Co WexfordMeet at the Frying Irishman Restaurant in the Mill Race carpark @ 11am. Beside Ballyellend PotteryOrganized by Dick Donaghue | Type: paintout

    Allabest

    Dick

Admin might please broadcast to the group. Thanks

  • Karen Scannell

Great Dick, thanks. I think, if a comment is made on this group page, all members are notified in an email, automatically..

  • Dick Donaghue

Hi Karen. I just noticed a "Send message to group" above the photos of the group on this page. I clicked that and you'll know if it worked as you'll get an email.

  • Michael McGuire

It worked, Dick. But it's better if you post the event first, then copy the URL, open Pleineire again in another window and copy the URL as a link to your group e-mail. It might sound complicated, but it's actually very simple when you try it.

  • Dick Donaghue

OK, gotcha. Will do it next time as don't want to send the message a second time.... spamming?

  • Michael McGuire

That would be SEPAmming then, Dick!

  • Karen Scannell

Oh god. ...Michael, that's bad ;)
  • Michael McGuire

Yeah, my smart ripostes are nearly as bad as those of the "administrator"!

  • Neil O'Keeffe

    Ballyhack on July 12th

  • Plein Eire Administrator

Wrong date posted earlier in the week when it said 2nd July . Lady's Island Paint Out now scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday 5th July).  http://pleineire.ning.com/events/lady-s-island

eanwhile, Ballyhack Paint-Out is scheduled for 12th July

    We are being spoilt!

  • Dick Donaghue

We are up for it. OK.

  • Dick Donaghue

Confusion.... I see Annie has posted an event for Ladies Island for the 5 the?

  • Ann Cahill

So sorry my mistake Tony told me when I was in his shop and changed it for me. It is tomorrow Sunday the 5th of July, hope to see you there.

  • Dick Donaghue

Hi. The weather for Ballyhack tomorrow Sunday 12th is looking not too bad. Any other views on this?

  • Michael McGuire

Forecast is looking good, Dick. And best time to paint the boats there is when the tide is out which sort of coincides with when we are there too - low tide around 9-30 am.

  • Louise Treacy

Looks nice out there now, wonder will it hold?? Might chance it nervous cos my tax is out on my van passed the D O E but waiting for new tax book
  • Karen Scannell

    Hi Everyone,

Ned has made two scholarship places available  for two of his workshops. His landscape scholarship has been taken, and we've one place left for his portrait workshop this Thursday 16th.

The workshop is a three day workshop 16-18th. The day begins at 9am, finishes at 4pm, and is based in my studio in Broadway.

This is open to beginners or advanced students. If you would have loved to have taken his Portrait workshop , but couldn't afford to this year, please message me here or on Facebook, or email me at : theswallowsneststudio@yahoo.ie

    All the best, Karen

  • Karen Scannell

Hi everyone, so hard only having a couple of places, for Ned's scholarships, and sorry to disappoint anyone. We have the scholarships filled now. Thanks, for your interest, and thanks to Ned, for giving us the places..

Paint-Out at Killinick. Sunday 19th July.

    http://pleineire.ning.com/events/paint-out-at-killinick.

Weather forecast seems ok, especially for the morning. Be there by 10.30 and don't miss your complimentary Sunday morning eye-opener at Karoo Farm Shop.

In the absence of any other suggestions, I may head down to Tagoat for the Steam Rally on Sunday if it isn't too packed. Perhaps to paint a traction engine. I hear insurance costs for the owners of these leviathans are making these rallies more and more difficult to put on these days. Thoughts, please.

  • Dick Donaghue

Too noisy and busy for me. I'm going back to Ferrycarrig castle again. Feel it's needs a few more angles...!

  • Tony Robinson

Sunday looks ok and Monday and Tuesday look even better. Anyone else any other suggestions?

  • Lynne Mac Chonnchradha

Vintage thrashing in Craanford on Sunday, if anyone is interested. :+)

  • Louise Treacy

Lynne same here in Tagoat .The steam rally on here too just about quarter of a mile up the road but if it's a fine day it will be mental!! Forecast looks good so could be too much of a pain, and I know EVERYONE in tho area cos I worked in the local shop and café, daycare centre etc etc so probably wouldn't get a minute to paint yak yak yak !!!!
    And that's just ME!!!
  • Louise Treacy

Havhog said that the field looked deadly tonight a band was playing and it was a beautiful sunset. So ya never know some of ye might enjoy the steam rally!!! PLENTY of subject matter, the American painters would just Love Those old cars, trucks, etc etc.

Just wondering whether anyone found a yellow lunch bag in Clonegal last Sunday. Looks like I may have left it on the bench near the river.
  • Plein Eire Administrator
