Has anyone got any more examples of sayings that people might hear, when in Wexford?
If someone says the following:
"Wats De Craic"? --------------- Is there any news?
"Quare"----------------------- Odd
"No Bother"-------------------- This will not be a problem
"The head on ya, and the price of turnips"---You look tired
"How -ya hun"-----------------How are you ?

Oops things appear to be mixed up here.........the remark re Oscar was tongue in cheek - meaning he is all things to all men! Nothing to do with his origins, not supposed to be a wexfordism, just a comment for the week that's in it. Over and out!

Well - who would have thought that an innocent query, on the best of Irish sayings, would have culminated in the multilingual "dregs" of the worst insults at the Thomas Moore last Monday night - instigated I may add by a certain David Diaz, who has in his possession somewhere on his person, notes, taken in earnest on the night, of Finish, Polish, Spanish, Irish and English insults. Great care was taken to get them phonetically correct, so that no mistake would be made in a "heartfelt multilingual exchange" !!!
What great "craic".....all in the best of humor!!!
That was a most memorable night of international equality and education of common phrases used by everyone world wide! Such fun.......thank you David.
....some Irish humour :)
How's i' goin' fo' yeh? ------------- Hello
See yeh later -------------------- Goodbye
We'll need some saying from our visitors also ....maybe we'll have a unique AIO dialect in a few years..:))
..so Lori...any interesting sayings from Tennessee ??
