Continuing on from last years discussion...We're delighted that Marko and Nikoli are again making plans for another Plein Air Berlin/ Brandenburg Event 2015.Dates will be May 9th - 19th
The Event will be based again in Altthymen haus, http://www.altthymenhaus.de/
The cost will be € 45 euro/ day, full board. The nearest airport is Berlin
We had a great experience during this Event 2014. This is a wonderful opportunity to paint in the old, East part of Germany, and immerse yourself in paint :) . Places are still available, if you would like to join us let us know.

That's great, Nikolai, so the hammer stays in Ireland! And, yes, that's a point driver. I don't own one - I usually just hammer in some panel pins and tape over them.
I have a point driver with flexible »nails«. It was my plan to take it with me.
I was wondering how all the other artists were going to fix their paintings to the frames. You'll be very popular, NIkolai!
Hi Everyone. I've also been to Berlin before, so for me, I'd like to visit The Jewish memorial, Jewish Museum, and National Gallery, and if the area is still a hub of artists and Galleries, East Side Gallery.... Whatever fits into the schedule is good with me.. :)
Maybe we're better off outdoors anyway, since we'll all be zombies from lack of sleep!
The train you will catch, goes every hour. I think depending on the weather and how fit you feel after the flight, a walk from the Hauptbahnhof till Brandenburger Tor will take about 15 min. On the way is the Reichstag and from the Reichstag the Brandenburger Tor is very close. But don't expect an empty place there. Also the jewish memorial is usually pretty crowded. Do you think taking some sketchbooks with you? Sketching the big, dark cubes from the jewish memorial could be interesting, especially in contre jour.
I'm happy with whatever suits..maybe we can judge it better when we arrive, and it's enough to know we have that option ?
Just wondering about frames again Nickoli..have they been ordered? I'm bringing a few over just in case, and wonder if I have the option to change the size I asked for ? ...no problem if not...
Karen, I ordered them last week, so it would too late for changing she size.

I bought 1 liter balsam turp oil, at home I have another 500ml. I'll take them with me together with the 5 liter white spirit. If this is not enough, we could order some turp from Berlin. The other painters from Berlin, will bring their turp, so I think 1,5 liter for 5 painters would be enough.
That sounds like a lot of turps Nikolai. Should be more than enough. I can't see myself using more than about 30-40ml of turps and I think I can get by on about a litre (maybe even less) of white spirit for brush cleaning.
