What do you mean you haven't done any painting for a while? What makes these urban sketches and not paintings?? You have a great foundation for a collection of Buildings of Wexford there.
We're going to the Ploughing tomorrow and I'm going to bring my little bag with me. That is one of the big attractions of Urban sketching - its so easy to accommodate the materials about your person, in your pockets, handbag etc. We'll see what happens.
hi Kevin. Thanks . you are absolutely right about bay of Naples. From top of Killiney Hill it looks like Sorrento. I don't know if you have ever been up the hill but the whore area is called Sorrento Road Dalkey. I go up there most days with Doggies. and have taken to sketching it. it keeps defeating me.
I put todays sketch on the main page. I was going great with it until I ran out of water. in a fit of genius I used the tea in my flask to finish it. I finished it alright, good and proper. so i have just tweaked it in the sink. I got most of Sh...y brown off of it .LOL. by the way your portraits are fantastic. Ive only ever seen Sheilas but now the others too. Great!!
Thanks Kevin, No doubt about the choice of Venues with BV group. We would love it if you could do a Printout with us. Its A long way up but if you were nearby and had the time Im sure we could get together for an impromptu paint out
Unfortunately I don't think I can make Saturday . but I'm hoping to do all the other days, I'll give it a good try though, hope to meet up in any case. Looking forward to meeting you and the people of Wexford.
Hmmmm Quite like the name Lindale - might just adopt it ! Good to hear from you Kevin. I will get around to posting some pictures just as soon as I get a minute. Loved meeting everyone in Wexford and certainly plan to come back at some point.
We were thinking of Duncormack for next Sunday. But there are no facilities there. So we are now thinking if Wellington Bridge where there is a petrol station with toilet and a pub for lunches. Coffee can be got in the petrol station etc. And from there go out the road about 5 mins and there is a parking place where we can paint the estuary and the castle across the river. What do you think?
