So we are now thinking if Wellington Bridge where there is a petrol station with toilet and a pub for lunches. Coffee can be got in the petrol station etc. And from there go out the road about 5 mins and there is a parking place where we can paint the estuary and the castle across the river. What do you think?

A lot of it I think ,is the fact that I'm less "precious" about it. If I do a "dogs dinner" of a painting, it doesn't matter so much...and also I can experiment and be freer , and don't have to worry about wasting it. If your thinking of trying it, I'd recommend using a good primer..I'm using Daler- Rowney Gesso Primer white to coat mine, and have found it much better than my home-made attempts. Hope this helps.
