Plein Eire

Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

Over the winter I have been recycling some of older easels and redesigning two larger ones, (i suppose you could say three as the largest one is actually two parallel for even larger works ) both are counter-balanced, to make it easier to work on larger paintings. They can be moved up and down, this helps me not over stretch while working. They have been put to good use. My outdoor painting hasn't been totally neglected inspite of the weather, I was out at the end of November and 24th December 2012 plus a few trips out to sketch Derry City from the newly open Ebrington Barracks  for the paint above. Hopefully we will all get back in the swing of painting out doors again soon. Happy painting to you all.

A bit of a stretch for me seen as how I have'nt even made in to Wexford for the Festival. It would be an amazing experience. Maybe one for 2015 ?  Thanks for posting this Tony.

And if Winter is inactivity getting you down...

Here's a cheery message from Hellen Chirino-Roosberg to all members of Plein Air Ireland on PLEIN EIRE!

Dear Plein Eire,

We hereby invite all of your Plein Air artists to come to Curacao to participate in our Plein Air Curacao art festival from Feb 22 – March 2, 2013.
At www.PleinAirCuracao.com you will find the program and more information.
Attached you will find a tentative budget, accommodation info and all other info you need in order to participate.
We made sure the costs are kept to the bare minimum for the foreign artists.
Our organization is paying for most of the site-seeing and other local expenses. However, each participant must pay their own airfare. Hotel, food and transport are at special prices.

We are a non-profit organization for promoting Plein Air art and artists and keep this festival every other year.
Please advise how you would like to participate: actively (as professional painter or by taking or giving a course, or both) or inactively (by participating in the many events planned and benefitting from the special hotel prices etc.) for a great artsy vacation.
We look forward to hear from you at your earliest convenience,

Artsy regards and Bon Bini (welcome) to Curacao and to Plein Air Curacao,

Hellen Chirino-Roosberg
