Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

It was very sad to hear of the passing of a good friend of this site, Don Maier yesterday. I had the pleasure of meeting and painting with Don and Suzie during AITO 2012. The "painting coat" came in handy for Don at Tintern Abbey when he was painting in a shady cool spot. When my car broke down in Wexford on the Sunday of AITO I met Suzie and Don along the town, we sat down for coffee, a chat and cake
Don was so droll and with such a dry wit, it took my mind off the car disaster!!
And then we went to the quay and painted together!!!!
May Don Rest in Peace.

RIP Don. I never had the pleasure of meeting you but thank you for setting up Plein Air Artists the Daddy of Plein Eire. You helped get me out from behind a computer screen and into the landscape where I meet kindred spirits along the way.
