Claire just sent me this link to "ARTISTIC GROUP LEON MOINARD" site
Looks like 5 did indeed have plenty of fun - did you paint that mural too ? Love the book cover - you will have to re-do it with your faces pasted on !
Invited to take part in last weekend's 'Peintres Dans La Ville' festival,, five members of SEPA ; Jim Doolan, Kevin Freeney, Paul Maloney, Tony Robinson and Karen Scannell travelled to Wexford's twin town of Coueron near Nantes, close to where the Loire flows into the Atlantic.
An impressively restored foundry overlooking the river is the wonderful atelier of the Coueron painters. The weekend combined some plein air painting with studio work, portraiture and figure painting, and of course, lots of French cuisine.
Completing the cultural exchange, 3 French painters from the area will travel to take part in Art in the Open 2012 in August. I hope you get the chance to meet them.
...and here are Some photos of the Coueron Trip.
Sincere thanks to Jackie Menard, Group D'Art Leon Moinard, Mayor Jean-Pierre Fougerat and our host families in Coueron for their kindness in facilitating this exchange.
