I'm so happy to part of an Irish group! My great-grandfather, John Henry Power, was born in Ireland and entered the US at the age of one. On my grandmother's side were the Maddens, who also came from Ireland, but I have little information about them.
I love the adventure of outdoor painting, from the wild trip down the Colorado to the remote Selkirks in British Columbia, the Alaska Range, the old buildings of Umbria and Venice, the far regions of China on the Tibetan border. Painting is a means of opening my mind and spirit to the world in front of me. Being out in nature with my pochade box and my companions is to me the best of all possible worlds.
