I thought I had commented already Patrick but I prob forgot to hot the add key ! Trees are your forte - love the smooth trunks and the texture at the roots

Hello Deirdre and thanks. Re larger canvas, this one is actually quite big for a plein air. I'm slowly working

towards larger works i just have to make some canvases and work out how to carry them through forests

and get the painting complete while the light is available. As you  correctly noticed in this one the top half

of the painting is more or less the under painting only hence the abstract feel.
