As you said, "It must be lovely to paint without watching for rain though", specialy if you paint in watercolours. And it is. Here, most of time you are not caught by a suddern rain. It doesn't matter if you paint in oils though. I own a DVD with Peter Brown (Pete the Street) painting in the rain, in oils. He was a bit unhappy, but the painting was great, water and everything on that canvas! I also love to go by the sea and paint, not a big paiting but mostly sketching, with a notebook, a pencil, a little watercolour paint box or maybe just a little box of graphite and a brush. Wonderful :)

We used to go regular;y to the west coast here, mostly Sligo and Clare, great surf there but now its getting sort of difficult to get that wet suit on ! It must be lovely to paint without watching for rain though. The last time we went surfing to Strandhill I managed a quick sketch, it is very meditative when you are in the right frame of mind and in the right place - the sound of the sea has that effect.

Hi Norah, My mistake answering to Kyrle, sorry. Thank you very much, you are very kind.

I reaffirm, now addressing myself to you, that you must come to Portugal and enjoy our wonderful weather (well... most of the time), the landscape and everything else.

These watercolours are beautiful, it makes me want to get on a plane to Portugal

Another great one here, I just love the looseness and speed of the marks, a great image Helder.
