Catherine - a great gallery and I love these poppies, we only seem to have red ones here which are beautiful too. I know what you mean about using thin paint - I do watercolours and when I started oils they all looked like wc but now I am trying to use thicker paint too but you look as if you are not having too many problems as this is wonderful
Thank you Dagmara! I'd love to have a workshop, will let you know when and if! One thing I have learned lately is to pile more paint onto the surface, at least with the lighter colors. I have a habit of painting too thinly, like "staining" the surface, but applying paint with thick brushstrokes gives a better effect. Another tip I am applying is - not to overwork it by piddling, another bad habit I had developed . Just to brush on the paint and leave it alone works better. : )
