A trip down to Hook Head and I decided I couldn't paint the lighthouse yet again, so pushed myself to find something different. It didn't help either that the sea was almost dead calm. Anyway, I found myself being drawn to the abstract shapes created by the distinctive Hook Head rocky outcrops. I eventually settled for this pattern, moved stuff around a little, but not that much. I'm now thinking of doing a series of these.

Great subject, extremely well executed. Well worth the push, it shows there is a painting around every corner.
