Such wonderful flowers, and it was lovely to meet up with the PEBV gang .
The rain eventually forced us to pack up - you can see raindrops on this painting. I was working loosely, and sort of abstracting the background anyway, so maybe it was good to be forced to stop before the piece got tightened up too much.
I saw deer for the first time EVER in the park. All those years I've been looking out for them. I saw a whole herd of them.

Valerie, the last time we painted in Farmleigh late last year, the deer were hiding in the woods at the entrance to the car park-I couldn't believe how many were there together.  I love the looseness of this painting and a great variety of Magnolias there yesterday.

Beautiful Valerie, it was such a beautiful spot with all the spring flowers.  The deers are easier to find in autumn when they start their rutting I believe.  I have lots of photos of them if you ever want any !Madrid looks like a great place to paint too.  Hope to get back to the park on wed but I will email all when I know for certain
