Thought I would be able to do some negative painting around the tree trunk but just too cold but will return again on a warmer day as it is a lovely location

Wonderful work Norah.
I love the way your close-up of the tree allows the branches to give a really powerful impression of strength and stability and the very subtle suggestive tones of the background allow those of us who were there to fill, in our own scenario.
Agree with Julia and love the contrast of the tree with the background haze. Yes, if you are interested in returning in a few months time for warmer weather we would be more than welcome.
Norah, this is wonderful. The tree looks so fresh and alive,- you captured the bark texture well. I also like your choice of the viewpoint, sheltered; and that hazy atmospheric feel. Yes, I think we should go there again in spring. There are more nice views to paint.
