The wind at Hook Head finally got to me, so I moved up the coast to these ciffs overlooking Carnivan Bay. I always love backlit or "contre jour" scenes, especially where there's water.

Love the colours in this painting - the yellows on the water and the orange highlights on the rocks - these colours give the piece a magical, mysterious air! Liz

Thanks Elaine. I've been working on small canvases for the last couple of months, not so much because I prefer to do so, but purely on commercial grounds - these ones sell! This painting is 10" x 12". I went as large as 16" x 22" earlier in the summer and did quite a few 14" x 18", the latter being a size with which I felt very comfortable. I must post the sizes in future, although in the absence of a field box for inserting same, it is easy to forget.

Wow! Just the little bit I have watched your painting, while being on this site, has shown a lot of maturing in your painting style. I can now tell a "McGuire" when I see it! You get the light on the water, and the rocks wonderfully. What size is this one?

The glittering light is lovely in this one Michael

Thanks Tony. Everything just seems easy sometimes - not often enough though!

Thanks Norah. Make sure to tie everything down when painting over there. Hope it stays dry anyway.
