Thank you Caroline, we must try to get  a few evening paint outs in soon when the skies have that wonderful hue and the trees are gently on the turn

This is beautiful Norah.  I agree with you, the light was getting better around 4.30pm, and I was tempted to stay on longer.  It turned out to be a beautiful evening for painting.

Thank you Sally and Kevin, Sally I was wondering about the strength of the shadow cast by the hen - another thing to thing about next time ,should observe this instead of getting carried away with the lovely colours I could see in the hen.  Yes, it normally clears up after 11 after raining all night and when I was leaving around 4.30 the light was getting better with beautiful long soft shadows - an overnight stay would be perfect

This is a wonderful painting Norah. I love the light coming from behind and the strength of your colours.
To continue the poultry metaphor wasnt' it great that no one chickened out when we saw the rain on Saturday. We were rewarded with Listoke at its best.

Thank you Seam, I don't really post my little sketches but every time you put pencil or paint to paper you learn something new so it's always handy to have a sketch book and you wonder how you might develop them in to a full composition.

Lovely watercolour, Norah,.     The gleams of white paper for highlights are very effective.
