The Hill of Tara is one of Ireland’s most majestic and most mystical mountains. Its local name is Teamhair na Ri, which means Hill of the King or Place of Assembly. The mountain stretches over a green landscape and has played significant roles in the history, folklore, and legends of Ireland. Recently, the Hill of Tara has been on the UNESCO Tentative List side, along with the other royal sites of Ireland such as Cashel, Drin Ailinne, Hill of Uisneach, Tara Complex and the Rathcrogan Complex. These Royal Sites are unique expressions of the Irish Society as locations for their royal ceremonies, inauguration, and assembly. To date, the people of Ireland are campaigning to get the Hill of Tara accepted into the UNESCO World Heritage List; meaning that the landmark will be protected, much like how endangered animals are protected

Sorry Nora , change of plan will not be able to make it after all :(
Early frost will clear quickly on Saturday morning and the day will begin dry and bright with sunny spells. Cloud will increase from the west and more rain reaching the southwest around midday will spread countrywide as the day goes on and southerly winds will strengthen again. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees
I am bringing a flask and plenty of warm layers and dont forget the fingerless gloves - Dunnes have them for £5
