Lets meet in Drogheda this week, 9th February – WMCairnes, Gastro Bar, D Hotel at 11 a.m. From there there is a wide choice of urban/ industrial sites e.g. the old Cement Roadstone Works now Premier Periclase on the Boyne or Drogheda docks or the Viaduct – 19th century eighteen-span lime stone and iron railway bridge. And if that doesn’t grab your fancy the town is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

D Hotel is on the south side of the Boyne beside Scotch Hall shopping centre. To get there from M1 – exit M1 for Julianstown (you save on the toll) and continue to Drogheda. Pass the railway station on your right. If you wish you may park in the shopping centre next traffic lights on your right OR (better) you may continue – pass shopping centre, go through next lights, get into right lane. At traffic lights go right towards town centre, do NOT cross bridge. Go right again. Continue to pedestrian crossing and hotel and carpark are in on the left. Good luck – even the hotel admits it’s difficult and invite you to call them at 041 9877700 in case of difficulty. Or you may phone me 086 8050177.
P.S. this whole thing is weather permitting so check this site Saturday morning before venturing out.
