Paint Out Norwich 2017

Paint Out Norwich in its fourth-year Plein Air art competition challenges outdoor artists across all media to interpret the iconic sights, medieval streets & changing face of the fine city of Norwich.

Under the pressure of time, environment, autumnal light, changeable weather, we hope to add that urgency of stroke and imminent interpretation of the unfolding urban scene in front of the hardy plein air painter and studio émigré alike.

Paint Out is not an 'easy' day out, it is a veritable challenge, but one that becomes the crucible of creativity, maybe the odd hit and miss works, but it pulls out of the artistic magician's hat paintings and artworks that were one to only paint "on a good day" may never see the light.
