9.30am, Monday, 29th July "Beyond the Obvious: Choosing a Subject"
Half-day Workshop in Oils at Carne Beach.

Students will discover how to select and modify their subject and to avoid the postcard view. Irish artist Michael McGuire deals with some of the most common difficulties of painting en plein air and shows how a few minutes spent looking beyond the obvious scene can produce a far more rewarding painting. Michael will also demonstrate how to use contrast for impact and a balance of hard and soft edges to add depth and interest.
