Vincent’s Dream...

To collaborate with a great many artists was one of Vincent van Gogh’s most cherished dreams.
With his dream in mind, the Festival Vincent’s Dream cordially invites painters and draughtsmen and women to participate in a five-day festival taking place between 20 and 24 May, 2015, in Van Gogh’s birthplace, Zundert.
For the first time, this year’s edition of the well known Zundert painting festival will incorporate the discipline of drawing. Growing up in rural Zundert, Vincent van Gogh was in fact a draughtsman before he became a painter.
We’re looking for painters and draughtsmen and women of autonomous stature, who will be able to contribute work of distinction independently and on site. Quite deliberately, we have avoided using the terms “professional” or “amateur”, not least because by current standards Vincent himself might well be considered an amateur! We will be working with Van Gogh models, in Van Gogh locations and in the surrounding countryside, which can be described quite simply as ‘quintessentially Vincent’. All the work will be fashioned there and then, on site.

This five-day event includes next free painting and drawing in the beautiful rural area, but also Van Gogh models, a lecture on Vincent and Brabant, a master of Sam Drukker, a central exhibition in the Van Gogh House, an evening art market and art and knowledge market Sunday.

No festival without a price: there are two weekend exhibitions forgiven in the Van Gogh Room in the Van Gogh House.

The festival is intended for experienced artists and stands next to painters for the first time open to artists, and rather, everyone who works on paper.
